SUMMARY:Childhood conditioning and Intergenerational trauma: April 1
DESCRIPTION:Fear for Breakfast is run by formerly incarcerated people and t
hose who are passionate about helping others. We aim to bridge the gap bet
ween those who have been to prison and members of the community\, fosterin
g healing on both sides. We offer workshops run by former inmates\, give p
ractical assistance to people who just got released\, and provide wound ca
re for the homeless in Los Angeles. By engaging with our community in a po
sitive\, constructive way\, we hope to promote the powerful idea that we h
ave more in common than we have apart.\n\nSessions will be offered multipl
e times throughout the year.\n\nChildhood Conditioning\nProgram that bring
s awareness to childhood conditioning\, which refers to the learning and i
nternalization of beliefs\, values\, and behaviors through early experienc
es and interactions. This shapes worldview\, personality\, and future beha
viors. Childhood conditioning significantly influences adult behavior and
emotional responses. While some conditioning is adaptive\, the aspect of r
ecognizing and re-evaluating others can foster personal growth and positiv
e change.\n\nIntergenerational Trauma\nA program that discusses the emotio
nal\, psychological\, and cultural wounds passed down from one generation
to the next\, often resulting from historical events\, collective experien
ces\, or systemic injustices. This type of trauma can occur when a group o
r community faces prolonged exposure to stress\, fear\, or violence\, lead
ing to lasting impacts on their worldview\, behaviors\, and relationships.
Some common features of inter generational trauma include:\nCollective mem
ory and shared experiences: Traumatic events become embedded in a communit
y's collective memory\, shaping their identity and influencing their perce
 ptions.
