A Trauma Informed Approach to Community Engagement and De-escalation  

We define emotional/psychological trauma and address how multiple traumatic

experiences over time can both weaken communal and familial bonds and create maladaptive

cultural norms that break down the fiber of the community. We will discuss the trauma informed approach to support healing and empowerment.

Professionalism and Leadership

K-Rahn Vallatine will facilitate training on professionalism and what it means to be a leader not only in the professional world, but also as a community service provider working with gang and drug impacted communities. We will also explore how to overcome the internal blockages, such as self-limiting beliefs and past social norms, that may hinder us from developing into great leaders.

Effective Communication as a Leader

K-Rahn Vallatine will facilitate a training on the importance of effective communication as a leader and effective communication techniques. We will discuss the importance of intent versus impact and explore different communication styles and they may be received by others.
